Flesh From Fantasy

  • Categories Poetry & Prose
  • Date January 3, 2012

I remember the moments when the songs from your spine caused the breath to jolt from my lungs, when the lyrics of your bones bled through my skin.
I remember – but my day is new.
There is now flesh that forms my memories. The door that once bound our distance, temporarily unwound. I was lost in your humanity and dream of another moment … just one more moment.
I have been delivered back to my steps without you, where normalcy no longer brings relief.
I suffer with knowing.
Knowing that although we collided briefly, I can never be more to you,
than the nothing that I am.
