Being “a different person” does not always break through the lips as positive. Sometimes these statements need to be left in the dirt where they came from – because they are as truthful as the crossed fingers behind your back. But when you can exhale a truth wrapped tightly around such a potentially powerful statement, Angels rejoice. I believe in redemption. Forgiveness. Change.
There is no growth in complacency and no change through mediocrity.
If in your wading pool of a broken past
you can find your face above the 3 inches you clamor in,
and find truth-
I will listen.
If anything but self indulgent sludge
can find its way out of you-
I will listen.
I want to look back on my life and see original. I want to see a person who every day can say, “I am different from the day before”. There is no perfection in my arena, but there is honesty and a desire to be better. I do not live on the waves of others or pretend to be something I am not.
“I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”~ Alice in Wonderland
Each of us toss and tumble down our individualized rabbit holes. Our vision and perception of what surrounds us is different than our neighbor’s view. We all fall in our own way. Some of us fight it and some of us embrace what this moment is. In the end, it is our choice as to how we are going to land.

This is a great post Jess! Having gone through what I did, I really DO feel like a ‘different’ person & there is so much truth in the saying ‘There is no growth in complacency and no change through mediocrity’ ~ so much has changed. Thanks for posting! : )
