Lyrical Friday

Welcome to Lyrical Friday! Music is so important in all of our creative journeys as well as in our own personal soundtrack of life.  So many songs have influenced me and want touse this day to put up a video and lyrics of songs from all genre’s that I find to have some sort of beauty or impact, or that I just think are awesome.

Blue Murder hit the scene in 1989 with their self-titled album. The band was started by John Sykes whose former bands include Tygers of Pan TangThin Lizzy & Whitesnake. At the time it was looking like Blue Murder was going places but sadly ended with their second and final album Nothin’ But Trouble.  Here is one of my favorite songs from their short run.

We All Fall Down from the 1993 Blue Murder album Nothin’ But Trouble

We All Fall Down

Well, Louie lost his daughter
Down behind that shack
The sweet brown sugar took her
And she did not make it back
It’s another form of suicide
Now I know the reason why I’m runnin’
Yeah

So if you see your sister
Tryin’ to hide her tracks
You just as well remind her
`Cause she might not make it back
It’s another form of suicide
No one knows the reason why she’s runnin’
Far away
And all the fools think they’re wise
And the angels they cry
And the people they all gathered round
It was nine twenty-five
When her body arrived
And by noon she was down in the ground
And we all fall down
(You better look out)
So if you see your brother
Choking on the dope
You just as well remind him
`Cause he does not stand a hope
Another form of suicide
No one knows the reason why he’s runnin’
Far away
And all the fools think they’re wise
And the angels they cry
And the people they all gathered round
It was nine twenty-five
When his body arrived
And by noon he was down in the ground
And we all fall down
(Solo)
So if you see your mama
Shakin’ on the street
Your little sister’s starving
And there ain’t no food to eat
She’s looking for the dealer
She’s tryin’ to find some crack
Well, tell your little sister
Mama won’t be coming back
Another form of suicide
No one knows the reason why she’s runnin’
Far away
And all the fools think they’re wise
And the angels they cry
And the people they all gathered round
It was nine twenty-five
When her body arrived
And by noon she was down in the ground
And we all fall down
And we all fall down
And we all fall down
To the ground
And we all fall down
It’s comin’ to get ya
Just one more hit
Just another hit
You better look out
Cause the dealer’s gonna get ya
You’re going down
